Episode 83: Spoiler Alert

SPOILER ALERT: There aren't actually any spoilers for anything in this episode. It's just about spoiler alerts.

Since I was a kid, new superhero movie releases have been a big thing for me. For the most part, I've had to go each new release soon after it came out, if not the day of. My dad and I even had a tradition for a little bit where we would go see each new superhero movie the day it came out.
For some releases, especially the bigger ones, I had two different approaches to spoilers: sometimes I would seek them out so I could have some questions answered before I went in, but sometimes I would consciously go on a "social media embargo" just so I wouldn't accidentally find anything out. I've found out that, even though it's super hard sometimes, it's better to resist the urge and go into something without knowing any spoilers. They're called "spoilers" for a reason. They take away the surprise and excitement when something big happens. It's so much more exciting when a big thing happens and you weren't expecting it.
As for The Walking Dead, I got into it between seasons 6 and 7. Season 6 ended on a cliffhanger. To honor that disclaimer I put at the beginning of this episode, I won't say what it was. But, I was desperate to get the answers, so I joined a Facebook group dedicated to spoilers for the show, who apparently had someone on the inside leaking information. When they revealed the answer, I was extremely hesitant to believe them. But, the answers they posted turned out to be absolutely correct. From that point on, for the next few seasons, I read the spoilers they posted, or at least skimmed them, for each new episode. I almost always knew what was gonna happen before watching each week's new episode. Then for the last few seasons, I stopped reading the spoilers for the most part and just watched new episodes like a normal person. And I didn't mind it; in fact I kind of enjoyed going in blind and being surprised by whatever happened.
In short, pursue spoilers if you want, but overall I think it's better if you don't.

Anyway, see you next week!
