Episode 52: Everyone Saves The World
There are 52 weeks in a year. This is my fiftieth episode. So, I may as well do some kinda anniversary special.
I've been saving the world for a year now. It's tiring. It's hard. And, most importantly, I can't do it alone. Captain America stood alone against Thanos and his army in Endgame, but that was only because of sheer bravery and dedication to fighting for what is right. He didn't stand a chance on his own, and he knew that. But, when the Avengers started coming out of the portals and from the rubble of their base, the tides turned. The Avengers were finally assembled and Thanos was about to, finally, get his.
So, I'm Captain America here. I need the rest of the Avengers to assemble before I can truly save the world. But there will be more saving the world to do aftwrwards.
For this blog, I asked several people in my life what they would do to make the world a better place. This episode is about you guys. Mr. Hardy is done saving the world on his own, just for now. This is Everyone Saves The World:
"For me, it’s the smallest, quiet acts of service. This is who I try hard to be. For strangers: hold open doors, pay for the person behind me in the drive through, pick up something someone dropped. For my people: apologize genuinely if I mess up, say what I love about them often, appreciate kindness, mean every word I say. For myself: be okay with making mistakes and being imperfect, take care of myself well in all the ways I know, and look hard for the tiniest joys."
-Elizabeth
"practice art of truly listening"
-Dad
"Forgive"
-Orvilla
"Taking care of each other. Opening doors, sharing a smile, helping out as you can without being asked or expecting anything in return. Pay a stranger a compliment. Appreciation for those you live with, work with and come into contact with throughout the day."
-Mom
"Listening. I think there's a lot of power in knowing when someone just needs to spill their heart out and have a moment of vulnerability. That's one case where "sit down and shut up" can be really helpful when someone just needs the comfort of your presence."
-My Sister
"Being a good person. In todays Society it’s really looked at as having a family, house, car, dogs, and a good career. But if more people looked at it as respecting/accepting others and simple acts of kindness as others stated those POV of someone being “good” or “successful” would be out of the window and make everyone throughout much happier"
-Anthony
"Respect for all, including those who had opinions diametrically opposite of those you hold."
-Peggy
"Get rid of racists!"
-Andrew
"To plant native plants in your garden"
-Mitchell
"Wave my magic wand and make everyone kind to one another."
-Cyndi
"Smiling, as simple as it may sound it’s something many of us lack. Yet something so small can mean so much. It brings positivity, joy and most importantly love."
-Carlos
