episode 48: typing in all lowercase

this is gonna be one of those blogs where i basically just do a short rant about something i'm unreasonably passionate about and then call it finished. boring? maybe. unnecessary? yes. a waste of time? you got it. happening nonetheless? definitely.

it happened a few years ago. i noticed people on the internet were starting to leave capital letters out of their typing entirely. they were typing in all lowercase. it was almost entirely the younger generations, and it's still happening today - even on a wider scale. i guess it's some kind of aesthetic thing; perhaps these youngsters think it looks cool to be grammatically incorrect?

maybe it does look cool and i just don't get it. maybe i just don't get the aesthetic. but, we all have those little things that we know bug us more than they should. this is one of mine.

it happens in music, too, or THEY DO THE OPPOSITE.
look at the titles of taylor swift's albums folklore and evermore. and then look at the tracks. everything is completely lowercase. bruh. there are even artists like lovelytheband who insist on their name being spelled all lowercase.
IT'S ALSO APPARENTLY COOL IN MUSIC TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS. AWOLNATION AND WALK THE MOON BOTH STYLIZE THEIR NAME IN ALL CAPS. I THINK IT'S DUMB. AND NO OFFENSE TO X AMBASSADORS, BECAUSE I QUITE LIKE THEM, BUT LOOK AT THEIR ALBUM ORION. THE TITLE AND ALL THE TRACKS ARE IN ALL CAPS.

okay, anyway, I think my rant is essentially over.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
