CRAPS: Hulk

For a long time, I had seen every Marvel movie released since 2000, except for one: Hulk. I decided it was finally time to correct that, so I sat down and watched Hulk.

Before the MCU, Marvel had several movies in the early 2000's, such as the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, two Fantastic Four movies, some X-Men movies, and some Blade movies, among others. One of these came out in 2003 and was Hulk. This was the second live-action portrayal of the character, after Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno played him in the Incredible Hulk show from the seventies and its subsequent films. Bruce Banner would be played by Edward Norton in the 2008 MCU film The Incredible Hulk, and that incarnation of the character would be recast to Mark Ruffalo, who played the role in The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Avengers 2, Thor 3, Avengers 3, Avengers 4, Shang-Chi, and will reprise the role in the She-Hulk show.

So, here's my CRAPS on Hulk (2003):

Characters: 9/10. It's hard to go wrong when you're cast is iconic Marvel Comics characters. Plus performances from people like Bana, Connelly, and Elliott were great.
Rewatchability: 6/10. It's a decent movie but Marvel has made much better.
Artistry: 6/10. I appreciate the comic-booky nature and all but some of the special effects are really odd, even for 2003.
Plotlines: 6/10. It's fine, but I feel like it takes too long to be gripping and the ending is very underwhelming.
Soundtrack: 8/10. Good Marvel music as always.

Overall: 35/50
